The delegation visits and inspects Van Don International Airport.
The inspection took place as Quang Ninh's tourism industry continued to record strong growth. During the first five months of 2026, the province welcomed more than 10.1 million visitors and has set an ambitious target of 22 million arrivals for the year, including 5.2 million international visitors. This positive momentum provides a solid foundation for tourism enterprises and strategic partners to strengthen destination promotion, expand air connectivity, and develop tourism products tailored to international markets.
Within Quang Ninh's tourism development strategy, expanding air connectivity has been identified as one of the key solutions for diversifying international visitor markets, reducing travel time, and enhancing Van Don's competitiveness as an emerging regional tourism destination.
The delegation was led by Mr. Dang Dinh Viet, CEO of CRH International and representative of Everland Group. Other participants included Mr. Eric Wu, Chief Executive Officer of HT Group (Taiwan), Mr. Nguyen Van Tuan, Director of Van Don International Airport, and Mr. Nguyen The Dung, Chairman of Luxury Tour.
During the program, the delegation toured Van Don International Airport, visited Crystal Holidays Harbour Van Don, and experienced "The Beauty of Van Don" cruise aboard Crystal Holidays Cruise. The itinerary included some of Bai Tu Long Bay's most distinctive attractions, such as Tay Hoi Island, local aquaculture areas, kayaking activities, onboard fine dining, and immersive experiences showcasing the region's pristine natural beauty.

The inspection enabled participating partners to assess local infrastructure, service quality, and the destination's capacity to develop tourism products that meet the expectations of international travelers—particularly those from Northeast Asia. The program forms part of Everland Group's broader cooperation strategy to develop integrated tourism products closely linked with air transportation, gradually positioning Van Don as an emerging destination in the region.
Beyond evaluating existing tourism infrastructure and services, the working visit also focused on developing a fully integrated tourism ecosystem that seamlessly connects air transportation, accommodation, destination experiences, and international tour operations. This integrated approach is expected to provide the foundation for launching comprehensive travel packages targeting Northeast Asian markets as soon as charter flights commence.
Notably, HT Group has extensive experience serving travelers from Mainland China and Taiwan, having previously brought millions of international visitors to leading Vietnamese destinations such as Phu Quoc, Nha Trang, and Da Nang.
According to international travel partners, a large proportion of their target travelers from Mainland China, Taiwan, and Hong Kong have already visited Ha Long Bay several times. Their current preference is for emerging destinations that remain relatively unspoiled while offering modern infrastructure and high-quality hospitality services. Thanks to its spectacular natural landscapes, excellent transport connectivity, and rapidly developing tourism ecosystem, Van Don is widely regarded as one of Vietnam's most promising destinations for attracting premium international travelers.

Alongside the inspection program, international travel companies and Van Don International Airport also discussed plans to launch charter flights connecting Shenzhen, Chengdu, Shanghai, Nanning, and several other Chinese cities with Van Don. During the initial phase, operations will focus on charter services to assess market demand before considering the introduction of scheduled commercial routes once passenger volumes reach sustainable levels.
The first charter flights from Taiwan and Mainland China to Van Don are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2026. These inaugural services are anticipated to mark an important milestone in expanding international visitor markets, strengthening regional air connectivity, and introducing the unique tourism experiences of Van Don and Bai Tu Long Bay to travelers across Northeast Asia./.
