Officially operating since 2018, Van Don International Airport, invested by Sun Group to meet 4E standards, is strategically located to connect the northeastern region of Vietnam to both the domestic and international markets. The airport is highly praised for its infrastructure, operational capacity, and ability to handle both domestic and international flights. It can accommodate the latest wide-body aircraft, including Airbus A350 and Boeing 787. With modern terminals, world-class facilities, a professional team, and flexible policies, Van Don International Airport has become a key gateway for both domestic and international travelers to the Van Don Special Economic Zone and Bai Tu Long Bay – an emerging center for trade, tourism, and services in Vietnam.
During the signing ceremony, Mr. Hoang Van Dung, Director of Van Don International Airport, shared: “We always aim to connect with reputable partners in the tourism value chain. Crystal Holidays is evaluated as a potential partner due to its long-term strategic vision and its systematic approach to tourism. We believe this partnership will bring tangible benefits to both sides and serve as a catalyst for the development of tourism in Vân Đồn Special Economic Zone.”

As a tourism brand under the Everland Group, Crystal Holidays leads the development of an intelligent “all-in-one” tourism ecosystem, covering accommodation, travel services, transportation, and fully integrated tourism services. In the Vân Đồn Special Economic Zone, the Crystal Holidays brand is closely associated with the Crystal Holidays Harbour Van Don resort and entertainment complex, offering 2,274 rooms, an international convention center with a 1,500-seat capacity, as well as shopping centers, restaurants, swimming pools, spas, entertainment areas, and other 5-star amenities. The first phase of the Crystal Holidays Harbour Van Don complex is set to operate in Q3 2025, with full completion expected in 2027. Additionally, Crystal Holidays operates daytime and overnight cruise ships on Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long Bay and offers various land-tour and entertainment services onshore and underwater, providing unique and exciting experiences for visitors.
Earlier, Crystal Holidays signed cooperation agreements with leading travel agencies in Vietnam and internationally, particularly in key markets such as South Korea, China, and Taiwan, to expand its inbound tourist network for Van Don. In May 2025, Crystal Holidays also signed a partnership with Marketing Highland, a provider of South Korean tourists to Van Don via charter flights operated by Korean Air. These agreements are clear evidence of Crystal Holidays' well-organized strategy to realize its intelligent “all-in-one” tourism ecosystem.
Mr. Dang Dinh Viet, CEO of Crystal Holidays Holdings, emphasized during the signing ceremony: “The partnership with Vân Đồn International Airport is a practical step for us to continue enhancing our integrated tourism services in Vân Đồn and the broader northeastern region. This collaboration helps increase the value of the experience for visitors while opening new development avenues for tourism and aviation service providers.”
Connecting Aviation and Tourism: A Catalyst for Vân Đồn’s Tourism Growth
In the context of the tourism industry’s strong recovery post-COVID-19, the strategic cooperation between aviation transport operators (airports, airlines) and accommodation and tourism service providers (land-tours) is considered one of the key strategies to achieve breakthroughs for this key economic sector.
The strategic cooperation between Crystal Holidays Holdings and Van Don International Airport is not only a significant milestone in the development of Crystal Holidays and Everland Group’s luxury tourism ecosystem in Van Don Special Economic Zone but also an essential factor in increasing the number of air travelers. This will help transform Van Don International Airport into a regional aviation hub.

Under the terms of the agreement, both parties will collaborate in three main areas: First, they will jointly promote the image, brand, and tourism services across each partner's multi-channel media ecosystem and at their respective airports, hotels, and resorts, highlighting Van Don Special Economic Zone and Bai Tu Long Bay as destinations. Second, they will cooperate to develop integrated tourism-aviation products such as fly-stay-experience combos, charter tours, and VIP service packages. Third, they will create joint promotional programs for customers of both partners, including cross-channel distribution, event organization, famtrips, roadshows, and tourism promotion activities.
This partnership not only offers seamless, convenient, and differentiated experiences for customers but also helps expand the domestic customer base and opens opportunities to tap into the inbound market, particularly from East Asia, China, South Korea, and other potential flight routes. This will serve as a springboard for the development of tourism and services in the Van Don Special Economic Zone in the future.
